Awapp (أَوَّاب) is a local-first Muslim lifestyle app. It helps you keep prayer times, Adhan and Iqama alerts, Qibla direction, Hijri and Gregorian calendars, Adhkar, home screen widgets, and related features on your device. This policy explains how Awapp handles data and permissions. Awapp does not operate its own servers or user accounts.
Awapp does not require an account. Prayer times are calculated on your device from your location and calculation settings. You may also enter coordinates manually. Prayer time calculations do not require internet access.
Depending on how you use the app, Awapp may store and use on your device:
If you allow location access, Awapp may use your location for prayer times, Qibla direction, and city or area names. Your device may use Apple or Google location or geocoding services to show place names. Awapp does not operate its own servers for this purpose.
Optional location-change updates (when you enable them in Settings) can refresh your city and reschedule alerts after significant travel, using low-power location features on your device.
Awapp does not sell your data and does not create user profiles for advertising. Awapp does not operate its own backend, cloud sync service, or user accounts. Awapp does not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
Some features rely on your device’s platform services—for example, reverse geocoding for city names, location services for optional background updates, and system notification delivery. Those services are provided by Apple or Google (and your device manufacturer where applicable) under their own policies. Awapp does not control how those providers process data sent through their APIs.
Depending on your device and the features you enable, Awapp may request or use:
On iOS, Awapp does not automatically bypass Do Not Disturb or change ringer modes in the same way as on Android.
Your settings, preferences, and app data are stored locally on your device. Awapp does not operate cloud storage or accounts for your personal app data.
Your phone’s operating system may include app data in device backup or restore (such as iCloud or Android backup), depending on your device settings. That process is controlled by your device—not by Awapp.
Adhan, Iqama, and other reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Whether alerts arrive on time depends on notification permission, exact-alarm permission (where required), battery settings, Do Not Disturb, and behavior of your device manufacturer or OS. Awapp cannot guarantee delivery in every situation.
Awapp does not automatically upload diagnostic or log data from your use of the app. Any diagnostic information used for app improvement stays on the device unless you choose to share it yourself through your device’s share features.
Awapp is intended for general users and does not target children. Awapp does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes may be communicated within the app or on this page. Continued use of Awapp after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
